The Gift

I think what draws me to these sculptures... is the fact that one can take their sadnesses or issues or anxieties, and minimize them into a box. sort of like being bigger than your problems, filing them away and finding closure.

sleep paralysis

Mon Nov 2, 2009, 7:05 PM
so i have been a long term sufferer of sleep paralysis, but i havent had an episode in a few years.

but i had one this afternoon. it wasnt of the hypogognic variety, but i did feel like someone was in the room, hear the brush of feet on the carpet, even tho i was the only one home. and i was completely paralyzed, only my eyes were opened, and i couldnt cry out or move. i was aware of the dreams i had just had, and was confusing them with reality. as many times as i have had this happen to me, it still dosent occur to me whats going on during the episode.

does anyone else have this condition? its very bizarre. the brain produces a chemical that paralyzes you during your sleep to keep you from acting out your dreams. sleep paralysis is like the opposite of sleep walking.

its pretty scary. ive had some pretty terrifying episodes. i hope im not going to lapse back into having regular episodes on a weekly basis.

well, i guess im off to bed. wish me luck. good night.
